Part Time Stocker- Fort Harrison Commissary

This is a great part time stocker opportunity through Goodwill Commercial Services! The Commissary is located at 9702 E. 59th St., Indianapolis, IN 46216. We are looking at add someone to the stocker crew, working on truck days. Truck days are Tuesdays and Fridays. The site would be looking to add two stockers for two different shifts: 12p-6p or 6p-close (with availability up to 2a). Average amount of hours per week is 12-16 hours. Working at the Commissary location stocking grocery shelves for Veterans.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrating behavior consistent with Goodwill Industries Historic Values, Basic Principles and Standards of Conduct
• Takes inventory or examines merchandise to identify items to be reordered or replenished.
• Requisitions merchandise from supplier based on available space, merchandise on hand, customer demand, or advertised specials.
• Receives, opens, and unpacks cartons or crates of merchandise, checking invoice against items received.
• Stamps, attaches, or changes price tags on merchandise, referring to price list
• Stocks storage areas and displays with new or transferred merchandise.
• Sets up advertising signs and displays merchandise on shelves, counters, or tables to attract customers and promote sales.
• Cleans display cases, shelves, and aisles
• Itemizes and totals customer merchandise selection at check out counter and accepts cash or charge card for purchases.
• Packs customer purchases in bags or cartons
• Transports packages to specified vehicle for customer
• Other duties may be assigned.

• Less than high school education; or up to one month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers.  Ability to print and speak simple sentences.
• Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.  Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions.  Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
