Paraprofessional, Indianapolis Metropolitan High School $750 SIGNING BONUS

Full time hourly positions are compensated for 52 weeks of work per year which includes approximately 10-12 weeks annually that the school is out of session.  A signing bonus of $750 will be paid at 90 days of employment.


The paraprofessional will serve as a member of the instructional team, supporting learning for high school students in a “best fit” environment for teenagers with significant barriers to education.  


School priorities include:

  • High rigor, high support instruction to close academic gaps and prepare students for post-secondary opportunities
  • Trauma-informed social emotional learning 
  • Student and family empowerment through coordination with a robust Student Services team of coaches, counselors, and more.

  • Assists as directed by certified staff in the effort to support all students academic and/or behavioral support.
  • Works with individual students or small groups of students to reinforce learning of materials or skills initially introduced and outlined by certified staff.
  • Collects, maintains, and reports on data regarding the progress of students to other staff members and parents/guardians as appropriate. 
  • Assists with recruitment of students looking for a best-fit school.
  • Provides supervision of students in school wide settings, including hallways, cafeteria, and arrival and dismissal.
  • Performs clerical, supervision, and instructional duties as assigned.



  • High school diploma required 
  • Strong reading, writing, and math skills
  • Desire to assist students in a learning environment
  • Has working knowledge of computer programs to perform clerical tasks: Google applications (specifically Gmail), School Information Management System, and Microsoft Office
  • Ability to engage a student population that is majority low-income and majority people of color.  
  • Experience working with high school age students preferred.
