    The Mathematics Teacher will serve as a member of the STEM instructional team.  The teacher will facilitate learning for students in classes ranging from grades 9-12 using a variety of concepts and methods which include real-world simulations and applications of mathematics, inquiry, teaching with manipulatives, use of technology, project-based learning, and differentiated instruction.  The candidate should have a strong knowledge of disciplinary literacy and the Common Core mathematical practices.  This role demonstrates behaviors consistent with our Mission, Vision and Values, on behalf of Goodwill of Central & Southern Indiana.



    Display a working knowledge of the Indiana Academic Standards, Common Core State Standards for Mathematics, and 21st Century Skills and display the ability to:

    • Design curriculum units for courses, including Algebra I, Algebra II, Geometry, and Precalculus-Trigonometry.
    • Deconstruct standards to create daily objectives that will drive students to standard mastery.
    • Use a research-based, standards-aligned instructional resource to guide the scope and sequence of instruction.
    • Support students in understanding how the subject content supports their attainment of postsecondary plans.


    • Bachelor’s degree in subject specialty required with a minimum of 2 years of teaching experience preferred.
    • Current Indiana Teaching Certification in subject specialty.
    • Proven record of results that illustrates the teacher’s ability to increase student achievement utilizing subject-specific instructional strategies.
    • Ability to analyze and interpret data and make necessary adjustments to achieve learning goals
    • Superior verbal and written communication skills.
    • Adaptable to shifting priorities while maintaining a positive learning environment.
    • Ability to relate to a diverse, urban population.
    • Has working knowledge of computer programs to perform clerical tasks: Google Applications (specifically Gmail), Excel, Word and Internet Explorer.
    • Experience working with high school age students preferred.
    • Must be able to successfully pass a background check.
