The Janitorial Training Program is an intensive 10-20 week program, depending on part time or full time availability. Three levels of training have been identified. A Janitorial Certificate will only be given for the completion of all levels. The focus of the program is on skill acquisition and development through a paid internship within Goodwill Industries Janitorial Training Department. The program will include skill development in obtaining the technical and soft skills of working. Individuals will also be provided with case management services throughout the duration of the training program. Individuals are assessed on a weekly basis.
Interns: The Janitorial Training Program targets individuals with barriers to employment that have little or no prior work history, a sporadic work history and who have an interest in learning skills associated with Janitorial/housekeeping work.
Location: The Janitorial Program is offered at 1635 W. Michigan St. Hours of operation are from 6:00am--8:30pm Monday thru Friday.
Individuals must be able to clean restrooms, office areas, and common areas up to Goodwill Quality standards. Individuals will also develop the skills necessary to dust mop, damp mop, clean glass/windows, disinfect and spot clean carpets walls, chrome and general floor and carpet maintenance.
