    Indianapolis Metropolitan High School is a free public school offering a high school education to students in grades 9-12.     As the Mathematics Teacher will serve as a member of the STEM instructional team.  You will facilitate learning for students in classes ranging from grades 9-12 using a variety of concepts and methods which include real-world simulations and applications of mathematics, inquiry, teaching with manipulatives, use of technology, project-based learning, and differentiated instruction.  This role demonstrates behaviors consistent with our Mission, Vision and Values, on behalf of Goodwill of Central & Southern Indiana.


    You will have knowledge of the Indiana Academic Standards, Common Core State Standards for Mathematics, and 21st Century Skills and display the ability to:

    • Design curriculum units for courses, including Algebra I, Algebra II, Geometry, and Precalculus-Trigonometry.
    • Deconstruct standards to create daily objectives that will drive students to standard mastery.
    • Use a research-based, standards-aligned instructional resource to guide the scope and sequence of instruction.
    • Support students in understanding how the subject content supports their attainment of postsecondary plans.


    What We're Looking For:

    To be successful in this position you would have this type of experience:

    • You have a Bachelor’s degree, with a minimum of 2 years instructing experience post licensing preferred.
    • You have a current Indiana Teaching Certification in subject specialty.
    • You're experience will be with working with high school age students in urban, nontraditional education.
    • You have the knowledge of computer programs to perform clerical tasks: Google applications (specifically Gmail), Excel, Word and Internet Explorer
    • You are able to successfully pass a background check.
