  • POSITION SUMMARY

    The Driver Assistant works with the Manager, Home Pickup and ADC Operations to assist the Home Pick Up Driver in community pickup services. The objective is to provide excellent customer service and treat all donated items with respect and care. The Driver Assistant interacts with customers at both residential and commercial pickup locations. This employee may function in various capacities within the retail location.

    Hours of Operation

    8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday thru Saturday and 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday

     

    Responsibilities

    • Monitors pickup inventory and store drop-off inventory.
    • Ensures that pickups are completed in a timely manner in accordance with the daily schedule.
    • Keeps Site Leaders informed of opportunities and daily concerns.
    • Maintains a positive environment that is cohesive to achieve goals.
    • Plans, organizes and executes the activities of the day.
    • Provides a clean, fun and safe environment for all customers and fellow employees.
    • Maintains a clean nonsmoking van which operates by Kaizen standards on a daily basis.
    • Maintains personal level of performance consistent with corporate guidelines.
    • Provides maximum level of customer service to ensure repeat donors.
    • Ensures all customers are greeted at the door with a handshake, introducing yourself and thanking the donors for their time, donations and supporting Goodwill.
    • Builds and develops relationships with customers to determine product needs.
    • Proactively addresses and follows up with all concerns and customer service issues as well as communicates those concerns with management.
    • Maintains effective communication with other retail leadership staff and support staff.
    • Will be an active and productive site member and will be directed by manager to assist in any and all operational functions of site.

     

    POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

    • High school diploma or GED preferred
    • Excellent customer service and verbal communication skills
    • Must successfully pass background check
    • Strong attention to detail and quality of work including safety awareness
    • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
    • Microsoft Office products and internet navigation proficiency
    • Results oriented and driven to achieve goals
    • Drivers must be flexible to handle changing situations
    • Ability to pass a 10-point drug screen
