  • POSITION SUMMARY

    The Operations Analyst is responsible for providing financial and accounting analysis for the Commercial Services Operations including contract packaging, manufacturing, and building services. The Analyst is responsible for creating cost reports, profitability analysis, variance tracking and cost modeling for the various operations. Duties include creating tools to evaluate operations, investigate cost variances and propose recommendations to improve operations and financial results. Will use technology such as Microsoft Dynamics, Excel, Power BI and other tools to create dashboards and tools for the operations team. Train and communicate financial results/analysis to operations team. The Operations Analyst will work closely with senior leaders in Commercial Services to determine operational efficiency, cost controls and pricing strategies. They will also work closely with other parts of Goodwill including Technology, Accounting and Purchasing.     Responsibilities

    • Develop, create and lead customer profitability analysis for Commercial Services.

    • Audit transactions and evaluate variances in Dynamics AX and business processes; make recommendations for improvement and implement as appropriate.

    • Assist with cost basis for new quotes and contracts in Commercial Services.

    • Create daily, weekly and ad hoc cost reports and analysis.

    • Create and implement operational KPI’s for Commercial Services.

    • Utilize DOMO or other dashboard tools to share progress and reports and results with other CS Staff.

    • Create tools and reports to increase inventory control and manage turns/variances; make recommendations and implement cost control measures.

    • Work with Purchasing Manager to evaluate spend by categories, purchase price variances and recommend efficiencies.

    • Create tools and methods to track and control key spend areas

    • Lead financial analysis for new customers, expansion, contract addition, and related operations

    • Monthly/annual reporting for GWCS - subcontracting reports/analysis, etc

    • Develop strong relationships with CS team, Accounting and Customers (as appropriate)

    • Evaluate current accounting procedures and systems and provide recommendations when appropriate.

    • Assist with quarterly and annual reporting for Federal Service Contract Acts based on spend, labor hours and other relevant requirements

    • Analyze all internal controls and processes within Commercial Services. Provide improvement recommendations when appropriate.

    • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with key stakeholders and leadership.

    • Obtain cross training within GCSI accounting department to understand roles and provide backup support as needed

    • Create invoices for Commercial Services plant operations and government services as appropriate

     

    POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

    • 4-year accounting or finance degree is required

    • 3-5 years accounting experience required with experience in cost/operational accounting and analysis

    • Strong written and verbal communication skills

    • Working knowledge of banking, payroll and cash management processes

    • Strong budgeting experience, with ability to manage and communicate budget and cash flow issues to a largely nonfinancial audience

    • Experience and strong working knowledge of ERP or other Production Systems, Accounting Systems, and MS Office Products, especially Excel

    • Attention to detail, deadline-oriented, flexible, adaptable and able to juggle priorities

    • Excellent time-management skills and strong business acumen

    • Previous experience building strategic relationships throughout a complex organization

    • Strong working background in month-end close, reconciliations, and financial statements

    • Experience working in a multi-client or multi-site environment will be a significant advantage for the qualified candidate
