  • POSITION SUMMARY

    The Applications Developer’s primary role is to analyze, design and develop applications and to provide ongoing support and maintenance for existing applications.

     

    The candidate should be able to work on new development projects as well as on enhancements of existing applications as needed. The incumbent will be developing Microsoft.net applications in C# and work in conjunction with Microsoft SQL Server. An emphasis will be placed on mobile development, deployment and support. The responsibilities of the right candidate will include maintaining Goodwill coding standards, perform analysis, design, develop, maintain applications, provide technical support to our users, document and create help manuals as needed.

     

    Responsibilities:

    • Develop new applications and/or enhancements to existing applications.

    • Develop system interfaces using APIs.

    • Responsible for supporting multiple applications at Goodwill.

    • Responsible for analysing and resolving production issues and applying changes to the existing applications.  

    • Develop reports using SSRS and/or Crystal Reports.

    • Able to work in team environment.

    • Adapt/learn new technologies as needed.

    • Demonstrating behavior consistent with Goodwill Industries Historic Values, Basic Principles and Standards of Conduct

    • Help in developing project cost and benefit estimates to establish project worth including the development of alternative considerations leading to recommendations for new systems or changes to existing ones.

    • May be responsible for (or assist with) the estimation of resource needs for analysts, programmers, user personnel, consultants, equipment, etc.

    • Become familiar with methods of data integration and data validation through data analysis.

    • Analyze, integrate, test and validate 3rd party software packages.

    • Responsible for projects that span more than one system.

    • Demonstrate a willingness to explore and learn new professional tools, techniques and products.

    • Independently performs problem determination and resolution in the production environment.

    • Implement and debug challenging application programming features both individually, and by guiding team members.

    • Enhance company project methodology and processes.

    • Take a proactive role in communicating and advocating the consistent use of established company and industry standards.

    Preferred Experience:

    • Knowledge in information technology policies, operations, standards and procedures.

    • Knowledge on programming development software Microsoft.net C# , MVC, ASP.net, javascript, Jquery, CSS, HTML5, web applications programming, APIs.

    • Knowledge of relational database techniques such as SQL and understanding of SQL server, stored procedures (T-SQL) is preferred but understanding of Oracle PL/SQL would also be considered.

     

     

     

    POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

     

    • 2+ years experience in information technology with accredited college training in related field.
    • Knowledge in information technology policies, operations, standards and procedures.

    • Knowledge on programming development software Microsoft.net C# , MVC, ASP.net, javascript, Jquery, CSS, HTML5, web applications programming, APIs.

    • Knowledge of relational database techniques such as SQL and understanding of SQL server, stored procedures (T-SQL) is preferred but understanding of Oracle PL/SQL would also be considered.

    • Ability to create design documentation using ERD and Data Flow diagrams and verbally present those documents in a format understandable by others
