POSITION SUMMARY

Redirecting, aiding, supervising and supporting students. This role demonstrates behaviors consistent with our Mission, Vision and Values, on behalf of Goodwill of Central & Southern Indiana.

 

Responsibilities

  • Oversees students in the redirection room and in-school suspension.
  • Partners with teachers to get work for students to complete when in the redirection space.
  • Checks passes, restrooms, and grounds during class time.
  • Assists in student reflections and processing of situations, choices, and decisions.
  • Assists in receiving/acquiring students being sent out of class.
  • Assists in counseling, coaching, and working to resolve behavioral challenges.
  • Creates and supports plans aimed at reintegrating students into the appropriate learning
  • environment.
  • Assists students to their destination, aiding teachers with traffic monitoring.
  • Supervises the lunchroom.
  • Supports students, staff, and families in developing prosocial behaviors.
  • Reviews and collects student data.
  • Monitors student progress and adjusts plans based off of this ongoing data review.
  • Other duties as assigned.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma; associate’s degree preferred
  • Experience working with high school students
  • Ability to establish and maintain professional relationships with parents, staff, and students
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Team player, self managing, takes initiative
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Logical problem-solving, including identifying root-causes and aligned interventions
  • Working knowledge of computer programs to perform clerical tasks: Google applications (Gmail, Google docs) and Microsoft applications (Word and Excel)
  • Must be able to successfully pass a background check
