The Regional Director, Retail provides strategic direction, creating and implementing the goals and objectives for the successful operation of a number of retail stores in a given geographic area. This leadership role oversees the sales, service, merchandising, and operations with direct responsibility for the profit and loss of the stores within the assigned territorial region.

Conducts periodic audits of sales, cash management, inventory control, security/safety controls and store appearance.
Controls payroll expense within expected budget percentage.
Responsible for establishing and communicating the store merchandising standards and store appearance expectations.
Reviews operational records and reports of store managers to project sales and determine region profitability.
Provides vision, direction and support to management team.
Coordinates sales and promotional activities of store managers.
Analyzes marketing potential of new and existing store locations and recommends additional sites or deletion of existing area stores.
Assists in the design layout and setup of new stores in the region.
Holds regional meetings with store managers to focus on developmental programs, operational improvements and policy and procedural changes.
Staff Management and Development
Conducts final interviews of region’s field management team, and complies with all company hiring policies.
Ensures all new managers are oriented and trained on all required work processes, procedures, and expected standards of performance.
Evaluates the efficiency and productivity of store managers by establishing performance standards and objectives and conducting regular performance appraisals.
Assists management team in goal setting.
Utilizes the succession planning process to identify future talent in the organization.
Identifies and develops leadership potential in management team through performance feedback, coaching and mentoring.
Manages staff in accordance with traditional company principals, federal, state, and local laws insuring the workplace is free from discrimination and harassment.
Works with the store managers to create developmental plans for promotable assistant managers as well as team leaders.
Four-year college degree strongly preferred
Military experience highly preferred
Minimum 8 years of progressive retail management experience with 3 years of multi-unit responsibilities
Proven leader in the areas of budgeting and planning, customer service, operations and human resources
Must demonstrate strong analytical and reasoning skills
