The Business Analyst supports employees by ensuring all technology tools available meet the needs for school staff, performance measurement, and reporting.  The majority of the role is split between project management of Goodwill Education Initiative’s (GEI’s) DOMO software and to identify and create data analysis projects to support school personnel.  The Business Analyst will work with school staff to identify and  create the addition of new dashboards (cards) and changes to existing dashboard (cards). The Business Analyst will also be responsible for building a strong relationship with school staff and leverage those relationships to identify and conduct data analysis projects to support the staff, continue to improve school performance and identify any additional opportunities based on the results of the analysis.  The Business Analyst will provide ongoing feedback, collaboration, and training opportunities while developing and maintaining data definitions and internal quality controls. The Business Analyst will do all this while fostering a close relationship across the entire GEI team and DOMO power users across the organization.

  • Blueprint and monitor the development of all new dashboards (cards) in DOMO.
  • Identify necessary changes and improvements to existing programs and schools.
  • Manage action item lists for DOMO and data analysis projects and ensure deadlines are met.
  • Identify risks/potential roadblocks/contingency plans.
  • Foster a strong relationship and understanding of the responsibilities and needs of school staff and conduct regular follow-up/feedback opportunities with school staff and all end users.
  • Coordinate internal quality reviews of DOMO data and correct inconsistencies and inaccuracies.
  • Create opportunity to understand the needs and challenges of the students the schools serve.
  • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, and participating in professional organizations.

  • Travel to DOMO user events, project management trainings, conferences and to GEI operated schools.
  • Resolve all user concerns related to DOMO, both internal and external.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and implement solutions, preferably through a formalized Kaizen event.
  • Provide backup support and assistance to the Business Intelligence team.


  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Professional and/or educational experience in business intelligence systems, data quality, or can demonstrate strong technology aptitude and ability to learn required tools
  • Professional and/or educational experience in K-12 education, experience working with inner city high schools or people in poverty preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work well with software systems and ensure data quality
  • Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Visio (or other flow-charting software)
  • Ability to initiate and embrace change
  • Ability to collect and identify trends within data and communication findings
  • Strong organizational skills and a high level of skill in detail environment
