POSITION SUMMARY

The Home Pick Up Driver works with the Site Leader to plan and execute home and community pick up services.  The objective is to provide excellent customer service and treat all donated items with respect and care.  The Home Pick Up Driver interacts with customers at both residential and commercial pick up locations.  This role 

demonstrates behaviors consistent with Goodwill’s Mission, Vision, Values, and Standards of Conduct and may function in various capacities within the retail location.

Hours of Operation

8:00am to 10:00pm Monday thru Saturday and 10:00am to 8:00pm Sunday

 

Responsibilities

  • Safely driving and following all laws regarding driving
  • Monitors pick up inventory  and store drop off inventory
  • Ensures that pickups are completed in a timely manner in accordance with the daily schedule.
  • Keeps Site Leaders informed of opportunities and daily concerns
  • Maintains a positive environment that is cohesive to achieve goals.
  • Plans, organizes and executes the activities of the  day
  • Provides a clean, fun and safe environment for all customers and fellow employees
  • Maintains a clean non smoking van which operates by Kaizen standards on a daily basis
  • Maintains personal level of performance consistent with corporate guidelines.
  • Provides maximum level of customer service to ensure repeat donors
  • Ensures all customers are greeted at the door  with a handshake introducing yourself and thanking the donor/s for their time, donation and supporting Goodwill
  • Builds and develops relationships with customers to determine product needs.
  • Proactively addresses and follows up with all concerns and customer service issues as well as communicates those concerns with Management
  • Maintains effective communication with other retail leadership staff and support staff.
  • Will be an active/productive site member when not driving and will be directed by Site Leader to assist in any and all operational functions of site.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Excellent customer service and verbal communication skills
  • Must have chauffeur’s license or be willing to obtain one
  • Drivers license in “Good Standing” and subject to license status check annually
  • Must successfully pass background check
  • Strong attention to detail and quality of work including safety awareness
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Microsoft Office products and internet navigation proficiency
  • Results oriented and driven to achieve goals
  • Drivers must be flexible to handle changing situations
  • Ability to pass a 10-point drug screen
